Terms of use
Draft. Plain-language terms written for the pilot. They will be reviewed by a lawyer before Who's Up takes payment.
Who's Up is a tool for running comedy shows and open mics: a sign-up list, a running order, a room TV and printouts. These terms cover everyone who uses it: hosts who run rooms, and the comics and audience who use a room's pages.
Hosts
- You sign in with your own email. Keep it yours; don't share a sign-in link or code.
- You're responsible for your room: what's on its list, what you approve onto its TV, and what you print.
- Only approve pictures and videos you're comfortable showing in the room. If someone asks you to take one down, take it down.
- Free rooms show a small "Run with Who's Up" mark. Please leave it alone.
Comics and the audience
- Use your stage name, not someone else's.
- Only send pictures and videos you took, of people who are happy to be on the TV. Nothing reaches the TV until the host okays it.
- No hate, harassment, or anything illegal. Hosts can remove you from a list, and we can remove a room.
What we do
- We keep the service running as well as we can, but it comes as it is. Keep the paper sign-up sheet printout handy for the night the wifi dies.
- Pictures and videos are deleted automatically after a short time (48 hours on the Free plan).
- We may pause a room that breaks these terms, or that we're legally told to remove. If it's yours, we'll tell you why.
- We may change these terms. If the change matters, hosts hear about it by email first.
Paid plans
- The Venue plan is $20 a month per location: USD, or CAD for venues in Canada. A venue's owner pays; hosts who run shows there pay nothing.
- It's billed monthly through Stripe. Cancel any time from your venue page; the plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for.
- If a payment fails, your brand stays on while the card is retried. If the plan ends, your rooms go back to the Who's Up look. Lists, past shows and history are never deleted over billing, and nothing changes in the middle of a show.
- A venue's first month may be offered at $1 when it first signs up; after that it's the full price. Founding venues may be set up by hand with a payment link or a trial. The same terms apply.
